Why Biodegradable?
Why Use An Earth Friendly Product?

Next time you throw something away, think about how it will
ultimately biodegrade into our environment.

Each day, we choose to consume and throw away items that are
nature-made, man-made, or some combination in-between.
According to the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency, in 2005,
U.S. residents, businesses, and institutions produced more than
245 million tons of MSW (Municipal Solid Waste), which is
approximately 4.5 pounds of waste per person per day.

You personally produce 4.5 pounds of waste per day, on the
average, according to this study.
Furthermore...

The EPA reports that 55%, or 2.4 pounds of your daily trash or waste will ultimately end up in a
landfill rather than be recycled or burned.  The question we must ask ourselves is:

“What can we do today to be an environmentally responsible consumer? ”
Thinking Green

We believe this term, “Thinking Green” can encompass hundreds of ways we all can become
environmentally responsible consumers.  Check out these links to learn more:

Everything we consume will return to the Earth in some form.  As responsible consumers, we must
act as stewards to our Earth in order to preserve our natural resources for future generations.
Further, we must make the effort to properly end-of-life [dispose of] products so that they can safely
convert to basic natural materials or be recycled into productive reuse.

Waste Management describes Thinking Green as embracing the tremendous responsibility we
have, as leaders in our industry, to use our strength, talents, resources and technologies to better
the communities we serve.

We at BioSmart believe
